Job Title – Hire Controller

Location – Loughborough

Salary – Basic from £24,000

Type – Full Time, Permanent,

Benefits – Pension, Private Health Care

Hours –Monday – Friday (No weekends or bank holidays)


Where would I be working?

The company we are working with is an established supplier of Material Handling Equipment and are based in Leicestershire. The business sells, hires and maintains forklift trucks and customer service is of a high priority. The company will provide you with all the necessary tools to be successful in you role and enable you to showcase your skillset.

What would be doing?

You will be working as a Hire Controller and the day to day responsibilities include:-

  • Arrange hire of plant and equipment to Customers’ requirements.
  • Produce management reports as required.
  • Maintain the Rental Management (RM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database and ensure relating exception repairs are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Deal with customer hire enquiries, negotiating best hire terms for the business and taking off hire notifications. Correctly completing Hire Agreements, checking customer credit limit / “Accounts on Stop” and dealing effectively with all related paperwork.
  • On receipt of damage/missing report from workshop notify customers by telephone and email confirmation damage letter. Agree damage charges with customers and process associated paperwork for invoicing
  • Discuss invoice disputes with customers and negotiate settlement in consultation with the Director/Service Manager
  • Comply with all Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Co-ordinate the transport to arrange for the delivery and collection of our own plant and equipment.
  • Ensure all hire equipment servicing and required inspections are current
  • Liaise with the service department to make sure that all repairs that are required for the hire fleet are carried out as required
  • Ensure effective communication between workshop, hire desk and sales team.
  • Maintain regular customer contact to check if they have any new requirements.
  • Complete and record regular Telesales calls in liaison with director to ensure call targets are achieved.

Hire Controller experience isn't essential, if you have experience as an Administrator, Service Advisor, Lead Generation, Telemarketing, Outbound Sales or similar roles then this could be the next role for you.
